W54: Vamos A Las Montanas

Yeah so i got thanos snapped. I got transferred to Coihayque. So I'm going to have to take a nice plane ride to the cold mountains. My Zone is super small with only 5 companionships and no Hermanas. It'll be super lit. Sad to leave friends in Holtzapfel.  Story of the week, a drunk dude almost stole my water bottle yesterday. I maybe should have just let him take it but it was my nice red Hydroflask. So we walked after him a little bit then some random people pulled up that knew him and secured my waterbottle.   Hope I can get my suitcases under weight for the plane.  Might have to leave my protein powder for Elder Malu.   We gave a little talk in the mission devotional on urgency. I think it went well. Love you all and I'll send a longer email next time and let you know about Coihayque!!!  - Elder McMillan

W53: Holtzapfel

I'm entering what is probably going to be the last week in my small but mighty sector. I've been here for 4.5 months and it's pretty much time to go. We worked hard and saw the Lord's hand in some milagros. Tried to get things going a bit and learned a lot. The grandson of our recent convert wants to get baptized but his mom ended up saying no sp that kind of sucked but we understand and going to figure it out. This week we are just going to do random acts of kindness for the Zone. I'm trying to be a kinder person so hopefully I can learn to be a nicer person. We also had the birthday of our recent convert. He just turned 16. Hes from the Dominican Republic. His family is pretty cool. They are the ones who own the bakery and are always giving us bread and cakes and stuff. Im convinced I've gained at least a couple of pounds just from their bakery. I did buy a speaker today. I realized I'm really losing out on listening to stuff when I'm in the sh...

W52: YOOOOO

Yeah so this week was a little crazy. I made a new friend from Columbia when I went to cut my hair. He was listening to English Rap when I was there. I even heard some Blue Face and NLE Choppa. But this week was lowkey wild. We ended up having to go to Osorno which is like 1.5 away for Zone Conference. We went with the 2 zones of Valdivia and Calle-Calle that are right next to each other. We woke up at like 4:30AM that day and travelled with about 40 other missionaries to Osorno. Friday we had to coordinate some emergency transfers. They ended up shutting down a sector in my Zone so we had to house some missionaries for a little bit. It was just dealing with a whole bunch of stuff like that this week that has nothing to do with the actual missionary work. We did get a giant cheesecake from the mom of our recent convert. She is a baker and she always makes really good desserts. Elder Malu said his favorite dessert was cheesecake so then she went and got a huge cheesecake. Like t...

Tomorrow I hit a year on the mission. Lowkey passed by fast but also pretty slow. I've only been in 3 areas, but the work has been pretty good in each one. Mission stats so far... - 3 areas, 3 zones, and 3 houses - 1 language learned - 7 companions - 0 movies watched - 3 countries visited (mexico, chile, and Argentina) Overall it's been a pretty crazy experience. I don't really have to worry about Spanish anymore which is pretty nice. The 4.5 months with Latinos as my comps was great. I'm comfortable taking the bus system, and I dont have the fear of ordering pizza over the phone now. All part of the growing pains of the mission. Speaking of growing pains...Sadly, I do not think i have gotten any taller on the mission. So I might just have to stick to the whole 6 foot 2 for the rest of my life. But still I've only met maybe like 3 Chilenos that are taller than me. I have yet to get robbed because I'm serving in like the most chill mission in all of Lat...
