W35: Welp
Just made it through another week in Entre Lagos. In nice chilean fashion it was really sunny the first part of the week, then proceeded to downpour for the second half of the week. No idea when we are supposed to enter into real summer but the Chileans say soon. NOt sure if real summer actually exists. My only doubt is that they have been saying soon for the last 2 months but I am keeping the faith.
I got to go have my interview with President. Interviews are awesome for a lot of reasons. I'll list some right now...
1. Get to talk to President
2. President buys lunch
3. Possible that President brings packages that where waiting for you in the office
4. You get to see other missionaries
So prettty much those are the reasons that interviews are lit. We got Papa Johns pizza. In a Zone where you only get fed on Sundays, a nice lunch is always appreciated. Also President brought me a package. I got some new TRX bands for my mission/home gym. There pretty nice. So my range of workouts is really increasing.
So now in Entre Lagos I have set up coping mechanisms just to live. And let me tell you I have become a big fan of Mate. It is almost a daily occurance now to take mate. It tastes like dirt but it tastes so good at the same time. Like really good dirt. Also our local little supermarket sells these "duo cookies" that are kinda like oreos but a lot better. I buy 1kg (2.21bs) of these cookies every week...Those have really helped push through the days sometimes.
The days are filled with trying to get people motivated to do things to improve their lives, help the branch or get closer to the Savior. You would think in a small little town with not much to do, people would be excited to come back to church but sadly most claim to be too tired, too sick or too old to get out. One of our friends who is too sick to come back to church called to see if we want to play sports. That pretty much sums up life lately.
