W36: Upward

Welp, my time at Entre Lagos has come to an end. We ended on a high note...one of our friends chose to get baptized. She is a little bummed that the Elder she wants to baptize her is about 1000 miles away in Punta Arenas (next to Antarctica). Super stoked for her. She will be in good hands with Elder Cresap who is replacing me in Entre Lagos. He was my first online companion in the CCM for 1 day but we made that day count.
I was preparing to make the most of another transfer in Entre Lagos with goals to work a lot with the members but there are other plans for me. In retrospect I feel like it was just the right amount of time to be here.  1 transfer would have been too short but 3 would have felt long but I was prepared to stay. One of the most interesting things that happened this week was witnessing a cat fight outside our apartment.  It was pretty funny with hair flying in every direction in the air.
God is sending me upward....literally, not figuratively.  I am going to the northern part of my mission boundaries. It's still in southern Chile so I'll probably continue to wonder when summer is coming. I am heading to Calle Calle Zone in Valdivia to be companions with Elder Benson.  Don't know much about Valdivia but do know it will have more people to go and preach the good word of God to and maybe even an actual grocery store.  Its crazy it will be my first area with more than 1 companionship. Best news is there will most likely be a piano....let's go! I am stoked to have a piano in our church again. All you 8-10 year olds who don't like the piano, just keep playing. One day it will be worth it.
I am currently working on packing all my worldly possessions of white shirts, suits, shoes and books.  My workout equipment is giving me a hard time.  Might have to leave my old shoes or something. Its good I don't have to go by plane which would be a problem with my stuff.  It's been a while since I have been around anyone who speaks English....4.5 months since my faithful and stalwart trainers Elder Garlick and Hollingshead left me for BYU.  Speaking of BYU...so sad, our first loss of the season.  May they all rest in peace. So tonight Elder Martinez and I head to Osorno for the night before heading to Valdivia tomorrow. I am currently reading Jesus the Christ really slow and learning a ton. I am working on being more loving and more humble.  Those are the two Christlike attributes that I feel I lack.
Overall Entre Lagos was good to me.  It had an amazing view of the lake and volcano, gave me good bus naps (although not as good as Quellon), a chance to meet good, humble people, a great companion who liked to work hard, an awesome home gym which I will miss, and fleas which I will not miss. We had our ups and downs but we made the most of the time we had here.
I love you all.  I appreciate your emails.   Love, Elder McMillan
