W44: Vamos a Argentina

Ok so I'm sitting in an airport right now waiting to fly to Santiago where I'll spend the night before flying out to Argentina. I'm on my way to Buenos Aires so I can activate my visa. It's pretty much a vacation but it's like "official business" so I get to stay 2 nights in a hotel and I get to go to the Temple of Buenos Aires. It's a kinda goated travel group. I'm with LZ2 of the Valdivia Zone Lords (Elder Arbuckle). We're going to have a crazy study sesh and just figure out all the problems of the mission and what we can do to improve. Still have Shane Littlefield in our heads. Or maybe we will just go buy a bunch of like keychains and mate stuff and pretend we are tourists. But either way it's going to be dope.

Poor Elder Benson is stuck holding down things in Calle Calle but he is going to do great things this week.  His papers have still not come through to get his VISA which appears to be totally random since he goes home soon.  We are teaching someone who is super excited about the Gospel. Her brother is a Bishop and her family has come with us to teach her the Gospel which is awesome.  This week she went to another ward to watch her nephew receive the Priesthood which we were told her was great to do.  She's always been super Evangelical but is all of a sudden willing to read and learn and feels the Spirit in lessons.

I brought my camera with me on my side quest. Everybody said that it was probably going to get stolen on my mission. I honestly think the 12 hours I will be in Buenos Aires it has a higher chance of getting stolen than in the 22 months I will spend in Southern Chile. So I'll totally have to keep an eye on it. But it'll be OK.

Had to take someone to the hospital on an intercambio this week after a rolling gate fell on him but no one needs to worry. We lost a couple hours of sleep and he's going to be fine. Everyone in Chile loves to go to the hospital.  The hospital system is free here so I think Chileans are just used to going more than Americans.  I guess it is a good thing I am doing my pull ups so I could lift the gate off him.  I ended up going to bed at like 2AM and then we had zone conference the next day so we were up at 7AM to get up and go. We had to do a little presentation thing for our zone but it all went super well. Now everybody is really hyped up in the mission and like everybody has animo.

Overall loving the mission right now. I had to give a 12 minute speech in Church on Sunday and I didn't really have a ton of time to plan. But thought of a couple of scriptures to share and things to teach came to me. It went pretty well and I'm pretty sure I made minimal grammar errors in Spanish. Maybe I need to still work on my humility.

Ok also I don't have TikTok right now so I don't know what's going on but there has to he a trend or something right now about filming missionaries because when we were in the airport there where a bunch of people filming us in the airport and it was just super weird. We didn't really know what was going on. So if somebody could update me on that it would he greatly appreciated.

I am super excited to go to the temple.  I am not sure if I will be able to go inside but just being there will be good. Picked out my tie for the day.  We don't have a temple in our mission (yet) so it is awesome to see one again.I leave you with a quote by President Monson,“The world can be a challenging and difficult place in which to live. We are often surrounded by that which would drag us down. As you and I go to the holy houses of God, as we remember the covenants we make within, we will be more able to bear every trial and to overcome each temptation. In this sacred sanctuary we will find peace; we will be renewed and fortified.”

Anyways love you all.

Pray I don't die in Argentina.
