W63: Running a Marathon

Image
Yooo https://photos.app.goo.gl/MeSu7s9Vg6jNCaap9 Join up and I'll actually try to publish fotos here and there Ok so to explain the title me and E. Parronchi are lowkey going crazy in Coyhaique. Our sector is huge and pretty much built into a mountain so in order to make it to our lessons on time we have to run. Like we literally run through the streets at night so we can get to where we need to go. We ain't got time to be walking. Another benefit of running is that it keeps us warm. Its like our own natural heater. Look at me adapting. Way better than walking in the cold. Speaking of cold...it is cold. Fun fact about Southern Chile is there is very little to no insulation in homes so I am grateful for my sleeping bag and our space heater. Apparently Coyaique has the worst air quality in all the America's so I hope I'm not sucking in too many toxins during our runs. Heating your uninsualted home with wood fires, the huge mountains and cold air results in deadly ...

W62: Snow

Monday, May 19, 2025 Yeah, sorry for the delayed response. But last week my moms summary was actually pretty accurate. We had a cambio call last Monday and it turns out that probably one of my best friends in the mission was going to come and be my comp. So now me and Elder Parronchi are just going crazy in Coyhaique. Elder Parronchi was leaving the office so he didnt come on the normal cambio day. So I hung out in a trio with Elder Castro and Elder Rubow. It was the first time I really had to spend any time in a trio in the mission. We had a pretty good time. We went to visit a member and they had the biggest rabbit I had ever seen. I mean this thing was like 30lbs. The thing was just super fat and it was still growing. We finished our power trio by putting 2 fechas with the nephews of our recent convert so that was pretty lit. Then on Friday Elder Parronchi finally arrived. Then we lowkey just went grind mode. We ended up putting 2 more fechas in the 2 full days we had to work. It...

W61: No Email

The first week Scott failed to write an email but let me tell you that it would include something like this.... YES!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!! LETS GO!!!!!!!!!!!! MILAGROS ARE REAL!!!!!!!! You see Scott really wanted to be companions with his favorite Brazilian; his first DL or ZL in Chiloe (I don't know which). He realized it was a fleating dream since he has been in the office for the last 6 months and the liklihood of them being comps was slim to none for various reasons but milagros happen and he is coming to Coyhaique. Elder McMillan thinks they are going to teach the entire town. He cleaned his entire home today, scrubbed the bathtub and made lentils so they could go to work. He is teaching two great families and they are seeing miracles but for today the greatest miracle is that God is gifting Scott with a companion he can't wait to work with and learn from. I am sure he would sign off with Have a good week. Love, Heidi (on behalf of Elder McMillan) ...

W60: Tsunami?!?

Apparently there was an earthquake in Southern Chile but if you haven't remembered by now while I am in Southern Chile, my mission is still really long. I am far south, but it was like superrr far south. I'm the second farthest area south, but the farthest area is about 800 more miles away from me in Punta Arenas. My mission is huge hence the need to fly all the time. Like the southermost missionarys are probably like 1500 miles away from the northernmost missionarys. The crazy and cool miralce was that Presidente had brought all the missionaries from the Southern Zones to Puerto Montt for Zone Conference so we were all good and parents weren't worried. So none of the missionaries who would have been affected where actually in their sectors. That worked out nicely. We where in Puerto Montt again for Zone conference which means another flight but the good news is that this week we do not have to fly!! We will be in the sector the whole week which is awesome. We can get s...
