W63: Running a Marathon

Yooo https://photos.app.goo.gl/MeSu7s9Vg6jNCaap9 Join up and I'll actually try to publish fotos here and there Ok so to explain the title me and E. Parronchi are lowkey going crazy in Coyhaique. Our sector is huge and pretty much built into a mountain so in order to make it to our lessons on time we have to run. Like we literally run through the streets at night so we can get to where we need to go. We ain't got time to be walking. Another benefit of running is that it keeps us warm. Its like our own natural heater. Look at me adapting. Way better than walking in the cold. Speaking of cold...it is cold. Fun fact about Southern Chile is there is very little to no insulation in homes so I am grateful for my sleeping bag and our space heater. Apparently Coyaique has the worst air quality in all the America's so I hope I'm not sucking in too many toxins during our runs. Heating your uninsualted home with wood fires, the huge mountains and cold air results in deadly air. We ended up putting some more baptismal dates with our friends Jose, Jacqueline and their daughter Támara. Only issue is that they aren't married. But it'd ok because we talked to a lawyer member and he said it's super easy to get married. He also said he's a captain of a ship so he's just going to marry them. Don't know if that's all true but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I've always wanted to be a part of a wedding on the mission so hoping I can add wedding planner to my list of jobs. I found some Nissan GTRs in the town I'm in. They're just sitting here. No idea how they got here but I could totally give them a way better life in the US. Maybe I'll come home with more than a Chilean license plate. You never know! I'm going to be in Puerto Montt this week so we're cramming all of our lessons in on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Even though going to Pto. Montt takes a lot of our working time, it is always lit to see our friends. It'll be the last leadership conference we have with President Gervic which is sad. He was a great mission president. Our next mission president is coming from Washington and apparently is a soccer coach....lets go! It'll be interesting to see how it goes. I leave you with this spiritual thought. I've thought about what motivates missionaries to work hard and I think it is understanding and feeling God's love. Elder Uchtdorf said, "We are created in the image of our heavenly parents; we are God’s spirit children. Therefore, we have a vast capacity for love—it is part of our spiritual heritage. What and how we love not only defines us as individuals; it also defines us as a church. Love is the defining characteristic of a disciple of Christ. Since the beginning of time, love has been the source of both the highest bliss and the heaviest burdens. At the heart of misery from the days of Adam until today, you will find the love of wrong things. And at the heart of joy, you will find the love of good things." I know loving others and loving God is the key to happiness. Love, Elder McMillan
