W64:

We lost a couple of days in the sector last week because we had to go to Pto. Montt for leadership conference. But it was all good. Saw some of the old mission dawgs. We got to do weekly planning in the office with a huge whiteboard and it was awesome. We also had some good lessons with all our people we have on date. We ended up getting back on saturday at like 6:30, had some monster, threw on the work boots and sprinted out the door because we had to go try and get some people to church. The Next day on Sunday we actually got a text from the mom of the girl who was going to get baptized next week saying that her dad didnt give her permission to be baptized. We were like this dad doesn't even live in Chile. So we went over to go talk to her about the situation and the mom explained the dad has no rights because he wouldn't come sign the papers and gives zero support to the kids so pretty much is out of the picture. In the end he's letting them get baptized so that's all good. We often see people wanting to improve their life have opposition from random people but it often helps them become stronger. Elder Cook said, “Adversity should not be viewed as either disfavor from the Lord or a withdrawal of His blessings. Opposition in all things is part of the refiner’s fire to prepare us for an eternal celestial destiny.” That's really true on the mission with our friends. You know it will be a good week when we wanted P-day to end so we could work. Lots of good stuff planned this week. Until next week. - Elder McMillan
