W67: AGUA
Yeah so yesterday I went to church without showering because our water lines froze and our regulator exploded resulting in no water. Like nothing was working. The weather said it felt like -16°C which is something like 3°F. So it was pretty cold ngl. It wouldn't be too bad except our house doesn't have central heat so its really something when you wake up get out of bed and you can see your breath. At least it doesn't make it bad when you have to leave a heated home into the snow becuase we don't really have a warm home. Everyone else heats there home with a wood stove but we aren't allowed to do that as missionaries supposedly burnt down their home not that along. Probably gringos. Tried wrapping our pipes with some boiling towels and heard some crackling but didn't give us water until it warmed up.
Other than it being literally freezing here everythings been going good. Today President Gervic and his wife left and now we have President Mackay. The mission is doing a zoom call tonight so we can get to know them a little bit. Who knows maybe they're going to ban facebook or allow us to heat our home with wood. I'll keep you posted. I actually managed to trade ties with President Gervic so I'm pretty stoked about that.
We went to Pto. Montt last week to have our monthly mission council. Coyhaique is a great zone but its just so isolated. So it was good to go to Pto Montt to see everybody.
Our ward mission leader installs windshields for a living so one night we passed by his house and helped him remove a windshield. It was pretty much just us hiting it with a hammer until it fell off. Normally we wouldn't be doing things like that at 7PM because we have more important things to do but it was snowing and super cold so we didnt really think it would be super effective to just go knock doors where nobody would let us in.
We are going to have a baptism this week. Praying the font wont freeze...
