W75: Optional P-Day

Pday just feels kinda optional at this point. Most P-days are spent flying or traveling. Today we are flying to Pto. Montt and we have to leave our house at like 12:30 if we want to make it to our flight at 4. So most of our pday got cooked but it's ok. I'll just buy a pizza or something to feel better. We had a pretty solid week. It was a little unfortunate that we didn't have many people at church. But we'll do better this week. Yesterday night we went to our recent converts house and when we arrived we found that she had a dog in her yard. The thing was that I knew the dog. 2 months ago when it was -15 there was a puppy that followed us home because it wanted food. Then it spent the night outside our house and we named it Moroni. For those you don't know, Moroni is pretty much the man in the book of mormon doing good, standing for God and freedom, pretty much the best leader there is. The next day it followed us around a little bit but then got lost and we didn't see him for a hot sec but then like once a week he would just pop out of nowhere, follow us around for a sec then go on his way. Well yesterday our recent convert said it didn't have an owner and that she's been looking for one. After the visit one of the members who always picks us up to go have dinner at his house recently lost his dog so I asked him if he wants the dog. He asked if I was serious and I said yes and that Moroni needs a home. He went in to go see it and long story short we ended up driving back to his house with the Dog Moroni. I wanted them to name it Scott but the dog responded more to Moroni. Still learning bar chords on the guitar but it gets easier every day Played the piano on "organ mode" for a hymn. People gave it some weird looks but in the end went along with it. Still eating 1 potato and 4 eggs for breakfast. That's pretty much it. There isn't much time to work this week because we are in Pto Montt for Lidership conference, fly home and then heading to an area about 3 hours away from Coyhaique with the office elders which is going to get missionaries for the first time. Pretty awesome. The Lord will help us even if we don't have much time to work. Send me an email an I'll try to respond. W66: Answered Prayers

We had the cambio call this morning and my prayers were answered....I'm staying in Coyhaique with Elder Parronchi for another cambio. Nobody stays 3 transfers in Coyhaique but God it good. The members are great, miracles are happening and we get fed well so life can't get much better. I'm killing Elder Parronchi which means that hes going home at the end of this next cambio. So we're going to work harder than we've ever worked as his farewell gift.....President Bensen said "One of the greatest secrets of missionary work is work!" Let's Go! We had a crazy week with the whole end of the cambio thing. We also had to make sure that we got one of our friends to church because she didn't go to church last week and she needed to get confirmed because the family got sick. W36: Upward

Welp, my time at Entre Lagos has come to an end. We ended on a high note...one of our friends chose to get baptized. She is a little bummed that the Elder she wants to baptize her is about 1000 miles away in Punta Arenas (next to Antarctica). Super stoked for her. She will be in good hands with Elder Cresap who is replacing me in Entre Lagos. He was my first online companion in the CCM for 1 day but we made that day count.  I was preparing to make the most of another transfer in Entre Lagos with goals to work a lot with the members but there are other plans for me. In retrospect I feel like it was just the right amount of time to be here.  1 transfer would have been too short but 3 would have felt long but I was prepared to stay. One of the most interesting things that happened this week was witnessing a cat fight outside our apartment.  It was pretty funny with hair flying in every direction in the air.   God is sending me upward....litera...

W29: Chilean Independence Day y Dar Jugo

September 23, 2024 This week we did both the most work and the least work. Since it was Chilean Independence Day on Wednesday, a member invited us to their parent's house. While we normally would say no as we are on the mission grind, we gladly accepted since hanging out with missionaries wasn't a top priority for most Chileans on Independence Day.  They mentioned their parents lived way out in the campo (country) so we were like, "cool lets go!" When you live in Entre Lagos you are an hour from anything (argentina in one direction or missionaries in the other) and so when you say you are going to the campo, you are legit going to the middle of nowhere. To get there we went on the highway for a good 15 min, then a dirt road (ok still cool), then back to pavement for 2 minutes, then 10 minutes on a gravel 2 way road before going back to dirt for 5 min.
