W76: Sidequest

This last week was a little bit different. We had pretty much 0 time in the sector but people just seemed to fall from the sky to teach. We started the week in Pto. Montt for leadership conference which is always a good time but the traveling is tiring and I always get a little motion sickness so today I am trying to take motion sickness pills. We stayed there until Wednesday and then on Wednesday some of the office elders flew back with us to Coyhaique since they had some business they needed to do there. Then on Friday, the office elders went with us on a total sidequest with 2 members to Puerto Aysen. Pretty much in the middle of nowhere. The members drove us about 2.5 hours to a little town that our mission is thinking about putting missionaries in. We had lunch, tried to meet with some members who couldn't or didn't want to meet with us and then we drove back to Coyhaique. It was really pretty, but like 6 hours of driving. The town is super small so it will be interesting to see what is going to happen there. It was basically a whole day of talking with the members about random things. We got home at 8PM and had a couple of calls so it was all good. In the total of 5 hours we had to work in our sector, we found a bunch of people to teach so the Lord is good. A member told us of a mom who wants us to teach her kids. So that's a win. Plus we got a Facebook reference of a lady who doesn't know which church she should join but she thinks its the one "With the Book of Mormon" so we are teaching her. And we got a text this morning from a mom who wants her son to get baptized. I think when you work hard and don't have much time, God just kind of takes care of His work. Vanessa got baptized this week which was pretty awesome. Her friend is a member which is always great. She has a 2 year old son named Dante and his favorite thing to do during church is run around saying "amen, amen, amen" Haven't had much time to play the guitar. Haven't really had much time to do anything. I havent even gone grocery shopping in the last 2 weeks since we have been flying on P-day. Today we are off to Pto Montt again for Zone Conference. I took anti-nausea this time since I always feel motion sickness when I get to Pto Montt. Hope it helps. I'm a little stressed about my camera since the auto-focus isn't working. We are going to teach about using the Book of Mormon to bring people closer to Christ. Been wearing more short sleeve shirts lately which means summer is coming. T-minus 1 week left in Coyhaique. Mixed emotions.I've been here 6 months so its time to go. My favorite sector so far. The members are great, zone is united and we are having success. I've never worked so hard. T-minus 6 months for the mission which comes with mixed emotions. Grind time since its all coming to an end. Love E. McMillan
