W78: Osorno
I got sent back to Osorno but its a little bit different now because when I was in Osorno a year ago I was in a little town an hour outside the city with nobody around and now I'm in the city city. We work in the most humble part though and we are just seeing a ton of miracles. We love going to a part called the "Toma". Pretty much its a place where you can just go and build your house for free. So theres a lot of really humble people who want to talk about God.
The apartment we have is super nice. Its a little cramped right now becasue it is meant for 2 elders but they are looking for another house in Osorno for the other elders that are squatting with us. We're hoping its just temporary but compared to how a lot of people live we have nothing to complain about. The best part about the apartment is that it has a gym so it might be time to start that comeback grind. It doesn't have a ton of weights but its better than nothing.
The first day we almost lost the keys that we were in the sector. Other elders were staying with us as we were finishing the cambios and waiting for other missionarys to arrive an Elder accidently took our keys with him and went back to his sector which is all the way across the city. Our solution was to get the keys back via an Uber but the Elder accidently put the wrong address in so the keys never arrived... It was lowkey stressfull because it also had all the church keys for the stake center and we really did not want to lose those. But after waiting for like an hour and a half and telling the uber drier we would give him 10 bucks he finally came back to give us our keys. He was pretty upset that the wrong address and kept claiming he finished the delivery which I don't think was totally accurate since nothing was delivered yet. Unhappy middle aged Chileno that we were luckily able to bribe. Almost like the time I left my airpods in the Hawaiian uber and needed to bribe the guy to come back after driving around for a day (shout out to Harry and Ryan).
We found a lot of really good people last week. Hoping to help a lot of people come closer to Christ this cambio. I always get sent to super dead areas but we are going to work hard and see miracles. We put a couple of baptisimal dates. I also got bit by a dog. Kinda sucks but the owner is going to get baptized so I'll be able to monitor the dog instead of starting shots. I'm just going to go check in the dog in 10 days and if its alive it means I dont have rabies. If its dead... I probably need to go get some shots.
Currently not playing that much guitar because I had to leave mine in Coyhaique for a couple of weeks because I didnt have space to bring it. I should have it again in like 2 weeks. Elders loaned me some space in their suitcase so I can bring my stuff back up to Osorno. I don't think I'll have to fly anymore in the mission.
I only have like 6 more months which is lowkey crazy. If somebody wants to buy me lunch I'll send you a postcard from chile!!! My favorite thing to do today was clean my apartment and get food to start cooking for the week again. Love you al!!! Elder McMillan
