W79: Retuning to My Running Roots

Last week we had chilean independence day which is always a little interesting as far as missionary work is concerned. It would be the same as trying to talk to people on the 4th of July. It just doesn't work super well. But we just went to a members house and they made us a huge bbq so it turned out great. The same member also gave me a turbocharger. Its like half the size of the one I have on my car but its still cool to just store on my desk. I do need to buy some de-greaser so I can clean it up a little bit. I went on an intercambio with the class of 2025s top cross country recruit out of highschool. Apparently he runs a 4:01 mile. So the guy is no joke. Someone sent me an article that he was coming to the mission but I hoped I could have been with him in like 6 months when I'm finishing vs right now. That would have given him 6 months to like not be in top shape and maybe run a 4:20 or something. But we ended up going on a run and man it was the hardest I have worked-out in the mission. We only ran like 3 miles but it was rough. Then we finished with a huge hill sprint and I was about ready to just pass out. I thought I was going to have the most spiritual experience on my mission thus far and see God but it didn't work out. We actually ran again today on pday and I clocked a 5:52 mile. So I guess I'm not that out of shape. I also started taking creatine again, so hopefully thats going to help with the apartment workout grind. Other than that its still just normal mission stuff. Or as normal as normal can be. I'm still offering a post card for anyone who wants to buy me lunch....lmk and we can get it figured out. Love, E. McMillan
