W97: Final Cambio

Scott McMillan Jan 12, 2026, 4:01 PM (1 day ago) to me Hey everyone. Sorry I havent written an email is a hot sec. Ive just had no motivation to write one. Starting tomorrow I have 1 more transfer left in the mission Chile Puerto Montt. Its kinda crazy to think about and it almost sends me into a mental tailspin like 2 times a week. But its all good. Last cambio went good. We are pretty alone out in our sector. So this next transfer we are going to travel to hang out with the zone like once a week. Its a 3.5 hour bus ride so its a pretty big trip. But its all good becuase our Mission president is super chill with it. Normally me and my comp just take some melatonin then I put in my airpods and im able to sleep for a good 3 hours which is pretty nice. Our sector is really pretty and we've been doing some exploring. I went to go see penguins and I can confirm that they are indeed real. We went to this island that took like 2 hours in boat to get to. We also saw some Dolphins along the way. The island smelled so bad. I mean it was just like thousands of penguins and seagulls and all they do is just eat sleep and poop. Lots of poop. But over all 10/10 experince. Highly recommend. We have a little gym in our apartment and it is awesome. Been slowing building some gains. Going to start doing some weighted dips and pull ups. No idea whats going to happen when I get back and start swimming. Lowkey hyped to get back in the water. We'll see if that mentality changes after my first practice. Thats pretty much all thats been happening. Time sometimes passes really fast but at other times passes really slow. Overall kinda insane that Ive almost spent 10% of my whole life in chile. Also I turn 20 next week which is a little weird to think about. Time just isnt really real on the mission so its weird that I left on the mission when I was 18 but now Im going home and im 20. I mean it makes sense on paper but just feels kinda weird. Anyways thats kinda my life update. See everyone in like 6 weeks!!! - Elder McMillan

W66: Answered Prayers

We had the cambio call this morning and my prayers were answered....I'm staying in Coyhaique with Elder Parronchi for another cambio. Nobody stays 3 transfers in Coyhaique but God it good. The members are great, miracles are happening and we get fed well so life can't get much better. I'm killing Elder Parronchi which means that hes going home at the end of this next cambio. So we're going to work harder than we've ever worked as his farewell gift.....President Bensen said "One of the greatest secrets of missionary work is work!" Let's Go! We had a crazy week with the whole end of the cambio thing. We also had to make sure that we got one of our friends to church because she didn't go to church last week and she needed to get confirmed because the family got sick. W41: Feliz Navidad

S o somehow this week is Christmas and I don't really know where the time went or how we've gotten to this point. That also means we are actually entering summer so I am wearing short sleeves and sunscreen now.  We had a stake Christmas devotional. And the stake here is pretty small or about the size of what a healthy ward. There were about 150 people that were able to come.  It is hard for a lot of people to travel in our sector because a lot of people don't have a car.  The stake decided to do it outside since we are in summer. They put up a giant tarp to block the sun which was a really great idea so we didn't die of heat stroke.  Sadly the the metal fence the tarp was attached to began to bend. Like literally started to sway in the wind and halfway through the devotional a lot of people switched seats out of fear of the 15 foot fence falling down. W27: A date with a redhead

Yeah so this week one of the highlights was seeing my favorite redhead. I actually got to have lunch with her too. Yeah, it's Wendy as in Wendy's fast food. I ate lunch there on Wednesday and it was awesome. Slowly making up for the lack of taco bell but still missing my late night runs to go get food. But hey, who needs fast food when you have Jesus.  We all know Wendy is nowhere to be found in Entre Lagos which means I was out of my sector.  I got to go on an intercambios or exchanges with our Zone leaders. They're just super righteous good missionaries that help all of us scrubs out. I got to go with Elder Sepulvida to Osorno.  We got to go see a member who doesn't go to church that much and heard a really cool story from him.  He was visiting his son who lives in Utah and was having a really hard time finding a way back to Chile.
